We are Excited to Introduce 2 New Team Members
Timothy holds a Master of Science in Physics from Simon Fraser University and has over 10 years of experience as an online tutor in math (especially calculus) and physics. He can help students develop their problem-solving skills in physics, mathematics, and other sciences. He wants to help students gain confidence in their skills and a deep curiosity for everything STEM.
Here are a few fun facts about Timothy:
- He loves playing a variety of video games across many genres, reading fiction and nonfiction, and writing creatively.
- He dives headlong into whatever his brain finds interesting that week, which could be just about anything. You might say that “curiosity” is one of his hobbies.
In her new role, Melody will help students develop their digital literacy and learn to use AI thoughtfully and responsibly as a learning tool rather than a replacement for learning. She can also support students with organization, executive functioning, assignment planning, digital platforms, academic skills, and building confidence as independent learners.
Here are a few fun facts about Melody:
- She lives in beautiful Kelowna, BC.
- She has been homeschooling her two children for 8 years.
- Music is a huge part of her life—she sings and plays bass, acoustic guitar, piano, trumpet, baritone, and some percussion.
- She has spent many years working with children and youth through education, church ministry, music, and the Navy League and Sea Cadet programs.
- She is currently a university student herself, so when a student says, “I have way too much homework,” she can probably relate!
